Student Ambassador, Grace – Why I rebooked my room as soon as I recieved

10 November 2025

I rebooked my room for next year as soon as I received the email! I have loved living at CODE and I have made my flat my own. It has given me the independence I needed, and staying over summer for free is a bonus too.

I live in a dual occupancy room, which is an amazing opportunity that many accommodations do not offer. Not only is this the best place to live, but with the price in mind and the facilities available, as well as the option of dual occupancy, it is the best deal!

Living in a dual occupancy room made it possible for me and my partner to live together and do our studies together. The rooms are very modern and come with all the main appliances. If you ever find anything wrong within your flat, maintenance are always at hand to fix it.

I feel very safe and secure at CODE with staff and security being on site 24/7, and there’s always someone to talk to if I have any questions. The facilities are great with the gym, communal areas and laundry facilities. However, the best facility is the study rooms, which are perfect for when you need a change of scenery, a quiet area or a space to study with friends.

In my first year of University, I struggled with the transition from A levels to my degree, and the new environment I was living in, so concentrating on studying was difficult in the flat. The study rooms gave me that space and a break from my flat to concentrate and do my studying.

There are always lots of organised events and chances to meet new people which gives you a break from your studies and a chance to socialise close to home.

The location is really ideal with two large supermarkets just a five-minute walk away and the DMU university less than a tenminute walk away too.

I will have completed my undergraduate degree whilst living at CODE for the full three years. CODE is my home away from home.
