Being a student is basically a constant balance between being responsible and absolutely not being responsible. Which is why where you live matters way more than people give credit for. Like, imagine being trapped in some crusty, broken-down room that drains your soul every time you open your eyes. Terrifying, I know. Your surroundings can genuinely affect your mental health, your motivation, and just overall vibe. So, why not actually take advantage of where you live?
At CODE, I don’t think their facilities are talked about enough. Their studios? YES, love them. Their gym? Beautiful. But here’s the thing: when you’re living in a comfy studio, sometimes you blink and you’ve been doom-scrolling for 4 hours. And don’t even get me started on how dangerous it is having your bed right next to your desk during exam season (or like literally anytime).
So, that’s why CODE’s study spaces are shockingly underrated. They’re perfect for when you need to actually do work. Pulling an all-nighter? Last-minute deadline panic? Group project chaos? The space is right there, way better than trekking to the library or bribing yourself to lock in at a café. Plus, something about not being two feet from your bed just makes you way less likely to procrastinate.
And the second you’re done pretending to be a diligent academic weapon, you can take your well-deserved rest in the common areas!! Comfy sofas, movie nights, game tables, random chats with people you’ve only seen in the lift before. If you’re more into sweating out the stress, their on-site gym is literally the next building, so no excuses (this was a shot at me personally). While CODE does throw insane events (head to their Instagram for a look 👀), most of the socialising here happens naturally — which, let’s be real, is way less intimidating than being forced into an awkward icebreaker game.
That’s the thing about living here is you actually get balance. Quiet spots when you’re in your serious studying headspace, social areas when you’re in the mood to talk, and a cozy studio for when you’re done with your day and ready for your downtime. You really don’t have to choose between being on your grind and having fun; You can do both, all without leaving the building.
