This time of year can bring dread to the student accommodation market. That love/hate feeling, facing thousands of rooms to check out, paint, maintain, and clean in preparation for our new student arrivals in September. Every department is pushed to its limits, from accounts to maintenance. It’s all go.
As a company, we take great pride in employing, training, coaching, and caring for a fantastic team of painters, maintenance personnel, security, cleaners, customer service and sales, marketing, accounts… Their happiness directly affects their ability to deliver and care for our customers. If we want them to go the extra mile, we know we need to do exactly that for them.
With this in mind, we planned a summer treat. A boost in advance of the hard work ahead. We try to look for something different for our team builds. Something that is all-inclusive, lots of fun, and that will encourage people to comfortably step out of their comfort zone (should they choose!). Past events include everything from The Three Peaks Challenge to Secret Cinema.
This summer, we invited our whole team for an all-expenses paid trip to London to watch Mama Mia the party at the O2. What a show!!!
This live immersive musical experience really lifted our spirits and was a fantastic opportunity for the team to socialise and meet others from different sites or departments and have a lot of fun. Every single person was on their feet dancing to the end!
We had a fun Mama-Mia / Greek team quiz, Greek food and drink, and that was just on the journey down. At the event we were treated to the most fabulous meal and show with dancers and singers interweaving throughout our tables and interacting with us. What an experience! One of our maintenance team said “I wasn’t that sure I wanted to go as it’s not my thing, but have to say that was one of the best live music experiences I have ever been to. I can’t thank you enough for the invite”. For those interested, only Coldplay pipped Mama Mia to the winning post for him!
Our team is genuinely important to us. It is always our aim to continue to invest and care for them and we know they will go on to give their very best to our customers.
We would love to hear of any team-building trips you have been on that you would recommend!
