Your Refundable Tenancy Deposit

As a tenant at CODE Student Accommodation, you will have already paid a refundable tenancy deposit. This deposit is paid as security against costs that you cause CODE by breaking any terms of your tenancy agreement – most commonly cleaning costs, costs of damage to the property, or for unpaid rent. At the end of your tenancy the deposit should be returned to you, minus any possible deductions.

Since 2007 it has been a legal requirement for landlords and agents to protect tenancy deposits in a government backed schemes. The law only applies to ‘assured shorthold tenancies’ which you will have as a tenant of CODE Student Accommodation.

In order to register and protect your refundable tenancy deposit, we need you to complete the following steps:

Log Into Your Student Portal

Student Portal

Navigate To The ‘To Do’ Section

Scroll Down & Select The ‘MDS’ Tab

If you cannot click on the MDS tab or it is greyed out, please come back to this step in 24/48 hours. It may be the office still need to register your payment and your certificate is not yet ready for you to accept.


Scroll Down & Accept The Registration Document

Once you accept the document, you will be presented with a confirmation message.

 

In your To Do List all the items should be completed and you will be able to ‘Enter’ into your booking and administer your account.
