Spring had sprung, the sun was out and it was the perfect opportunity to indulge in the CODE Caribbean Carnival before it’s time to get heads down and study!
The scene was set with DJ Andy pushing out the calypso rhythms, the Island Street Band played with loud shirts and even louder drums getting everybody in the mood to party! The DMU Cocktail Society provided a thirst quenching array of beautifully presented drinks served over a welcome bed of ice and the Rum punch flowed freely accompanied by a fantastic free buffet for all our students to indulge – and there were plenty of them! As dusk fell the carnival got into full swing and the Calypso Dancers (and those feathers!!) got temperatures soaring with a host of energetic dance routines until everything reached a wonderful crescendo and we could all retire to bed having made the very best of a wonderful day.
A big thanks to the staff on the night, the organisations who supported the event and our students for bringing it to life!
