CODE Fitness Classes

27 October 2016

Whilst at Uni it’s important to remember the little things, such as healthy eating, hard work and keeping fit. At CODE there’s ways to keep up with all of these things with the great Café food, private study spaces and fabulous free exercise classes. I want to talk more about the exercise classes as they’re something that are so beneficial and getting them for free is something you’ll see nowhere else! Monday through Friday you have the opportunity to come along to one of the classes in the CODE fitness studio, plus you can even bring a friend along!

It all kicks off on a Monday night with a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class with instructor Ollie. This is a quick paced class that works you hard and fast, something that I personally found so much fun about this class! Tuesday nights are Circuits with Matt! Once again, aiming to keep up your fitness and help you work up a sweat this class is brilliant to keep on the road to a healthier body, and of course the saying healthy body, healthy mind, can’t be ignored as you’re here for a degree after all! Wednesdays and Thursdays are Core and Boxercise, both fun and energetic sessions run by Ollie and Claire respectively. Then last but certainly not least we have Yoga with Leonie on a Friday. This is a very popular class, perfect for improving your flexibility and relaxing you before the weekend!

Having never gone to an exercise class before I was super anxious, but there’s such a friendly atmosphere and a willingness to get you involved you’ll be squatting and sweating with confidence by the end of the sessions! Despite me aching for at least a few days after, I would absolutely recommend these classes to anyone who may be considering paying them a visit! After all, no pain, no gain! These classes are definitely something worth getting along to, so pop down in your gym kit at 7pm in the Dance and Fitness Studios (6pm on Fridays)| for an enjoyable and effective workout!
